Patrik Antonius is known for being an extremely talented and successful poker player. The Finn phenom has excellent results both online and at live tournaments and cash games. However, it looks like he is human after all.

Recently, Antonius has continued his success at the high stakes Pot Limit games ever since both Full Tilt and PokerStars stopped accepting U.S. players. This was quickly about to change as Antonius finally met his match; professional poker player Gus Hansen, who is the biggest winner online for the year so far.

These two played a heads up battle on Full Tilt at the $500/$1,000 blinds level. The game was Pot Limit Omaha and only took 250 hands for Hansen to take a dent in Antonius’ bankroll. Hansen made a whopping $192,000 during the match. Ironically, Hansen played another opponent afterwards and lost about $100k of it back.

Of course, Antonius wasn’t done yet and within a few days he was back at the Full Tilt tables. He even attempted to get some of his money back from Gus by challenging him to another heads-up match, this time at the $300/$600 PLO Hi-Lo games. From there he started an extra table of $300/$600 PLO with Hansen and also XWINK. XWINK is widely known in the online world as a gutless player starting from an enormously small bankroll to millions in days. He is also capable of losing everything too.

XWINK wouldn’t lose everything per se, but he would lose a large pot with the Ace high flush against Antonius’ straight flush. Patrik wound up taking in over $102k in just that pot alone. Overall, Patrik Antonius was able to recapture $193,000 last weekend. This is a tad bit more than his $192k beat down a few days ago which brings him to just over even in the past week or so.

With the U.S. players gone it doesn’t mean that some wild high stakes action won’t be played. With players like Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen and XWINK, play is surely to be entertaining. It will be interesting to see if Antonius goes on another wild roller coaster ride just to get back to even.
