Yesterday it was announced that Danish poker star Peter Willers Jepsen, aka Zupp, signed a sponsorship contract with Ladbrokes Poker. The agreement begins January 1st and will run for a full calendar year. Jespsen will reperesent Ladbrokes in all of Ladbrokes’ live events and in 2009’s EPT and WPT. Jepsen will aslo have exclusive online promotions, such as multi-table and heads-up tournaments.
Ladbrokes is very excited about their newest add-on. Ladbrokes Poker Managing Director, Edward Ihre, commented, “Peter Jepsen was our main target to become our new Danish sponsored player and we are very pleased to have secured his signature. Peter is one of the best online poker player’s in Europe and has also proved that he is a good player in live tournaments after his EPT win in Warsaw last year.” Jepsen’s friendship with Ladbrokes’ Pro Jonas Danielsson, aka Nebuchad, is expected to make the Ladbrokes’ Team even stronger.
Jepsen, an Iraq war veteran, is a young and ambitious rising poker player. He is also a former member of Full Tilt’s Hendon Mob. He already has several big wins to his name: 78th place 2008 Aussie Millions Poker Championship finish for A$15,000, 1st place 2007 EPT Polish Open finish for $415,679, and 3rd place 2006 Caribbean Poker Classic for $165,000.
