Poker player David Pham brought his superb year to a close by winning the Poker Player of the Year aware 2007.

The 41 year old finished ahead of the likes of JC Train (2nd) and Jonathan Little (3rd).

Pham’s successes has includes his recent win, Event 8 of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio, Las Vegas, winning $279,000.  He has also won four other major events, as well as making the final table in 11 over events which brought his year’s tournament winnings to $1.8m.

This is not the first time ‘The Dragon’ has won this award, as he did the same again in 2000, so to win this again is simply a remarkable achievement.

This can only be matched by T.J Cloutier, who has also won the award twice, and his cousin, Men ‘The Master’ Nguyen, who has four wins.  Poker appears to be very strong in Pham’s family, where if you include his other cousin, Minh Nguyen’s achievements, then you have a family who boast amazing 10 bracelets (Minh-2, David-2, Men-6)  and 6 Player of the Year awards!
