After suffering rejection in a previous audition, it appears as though Phil Hellmuth may have found his way onto the latest running of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

Rumors of his selection surfaced following a recent Twitter post from the all-time WSOP bracelet winner:

“OMG! Phil Hellmuth (me!) on “Dancing with the Stars!” Outrageous! Might make a fool out of myself on Worldwide Television one more time…”

While nothing is guaranteed as of yet, this does seem to bode well for his two-stepping future. The official cast list for the spring season won’t make its way into the public’s hands until next month. At 46 years of age, Hellmuth is obviously optimistic about his potential appearance in Season 12.

Believe it or not, there is a precedent for something such as this. Poker fans across the world were treated to dynamic performances by actress/poker player Shannon Elizabeth during the 2008 season before witnessing her departure in the seventh cut. If Hellmuth enjoys a similar run, who knows how many more poker players we’ll see on the dancing circuit?
