Even with some of the most beautiful Sirens in the world tempting would-be players to come check out the games, Playboy Poker just couldn’t fight the poker killing force that is the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act.

Just three months after they opened their virtual doors, Playboy, which is powered by CryptoLogic software, was hit hard by the powers that be and forced to stop accepting US players.  Unfortunately, they were never really able to recover and could not pull enough of the European market to keep themselves afloat.  Now, just months before there could potentially be some positive changes to the Internet poker laws in the United States, Playboy Poker is shutting down for good, effective January 29th.

As of today, their website does not mention anything about the doomed fate of the site.  However, it is reported that they have been informing customers since the middle of this week about the closure.  The email they are sending to customers says that they “can confirm that Playboy Poker will no longer have a poker site and will not be moving to another network.”

Looks like all those poker players fantasizing of earning an invite to party with Hef at the Playboy Mansion using the site’s “Bunny Money” will have to find another way to fulfill their dreams.
