PlayersOnly and Sportsbook Poker are slated to leave the Cake Poker Network on April 15. The duo will join rooms such as CarbonPoker and BigBetPoker on the Merge Gaming Poker Network.
Merge’s acquisition of the two rooms is sure to bolster the scant traffic of the fledgling poker network. The network has experienced a steady decline in traffic over the past 6 months. On the other hand, Cake Poker has experienced a slight traffic increase over the same period.
Lee Jones, Cake Poker Card Room Manager, confirmed that Cake Poker will honor player’s Gold Cards and Gold Chips after Sportsbook Poker and PlayersOnly leave the network. Gold Cards and Gold Chips are the foundation of Cake Rewards. Jones urges players who wish to remain on the Cake Poker Network to contact Cake Poker support after the two rooms migrate to Merge.
Despite much speculation, no conspicuous winners can be determined from the impending merger. Time will tell.
