London, UK – 9 November 2009 – Poker Heaven today announced it has paid out its largest ever Bad Beat Jackpot, with the winning player walking away with €210,000.

The lucky winner, French online poker player Lionel Foulquier, had quad 8s beaten by Quad Queens, on a €0.50/€1 No Limit Table. Foulquier has been playing online poker for just over one year and he joined Poker Heaven during the summer as he was attracted to the sign-up bonus, large jackpots and monthly rake races which are offered.

Foulquier commented: “I was aware that the jackpot was standing at over €600,000, but to be honest I didn’t think I stood any chance of winning it. When my quad 8s were beaten I immediately left the table to see if I had won, and when I realized I had, I spoke to a friend of mine to tell him that I had just won over €200,000, and at that point we were both left speechless. The atmosphere at the table when all the players realized we had won the Bad Beat Jackpot was amazing, and I would like to thank all of the players and the Poker Heaven staff for their best wishes and the support I have received. As to what to do next, I am planning to buy an apartment with some of the winnings and of course I intend to play a lot more poker!”

Poker Heaven, Head of Gaming, Grant Williams, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have paid out our largest ever Bad Beat Jackpot, and the fact the winner is planning to buy a new apartment with his winnings, highlights the strength of this promotion and the life changing affect it can have on the players lucky enough to be involved in the winning hand. Our core focus is to give more value back to our loyal players, and with the Jackpot immediately reset to €120,000 we are hoping our next payout can surpass this times record breaking amount.”
