Evelyn “Evybabee” Ng is a hot, 32 year old professional poker player born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Like some other professional gamblers, she got her start playing pool for money when she was only 14. By the time she was 17, pokerlistings.com reports that she had already moved up to dealing blackjack and playing poker in various backrooms in Toronto. It was around this time when she met Daniel Negreanu. He became her poker mentor (and they also apparently dated) and on her 21st birthday showed her Las Vegas. In Vegas she met many pro players and saw it was possible to make a living by gambling. It wasn’t long before Evelyn moved to Vegas and immediately became a blackjack and poker dealer, while building her bankroll.
In 2003, Evy decided to step up her game and she entered and won a satellite for the World Poker Tour (WPT) Ladies Night Event. It was a big break for Ng as she outlasted such players as Annie Duke, Jennifer Harmon, and Kathy Liebert to take second place, losing only to Clonie Gowen.
Since her breakthrough she has continued to supplement her cash game success with solid tournament play. She cashed three times in the 2005 World Series of Poker for $4,860, $1,865, $2,865 in No’Limit, Limit, and No’Limit Events respectively. Then in 2006 and 2007 she cashed once in each for $4,805 and $14,608,in No’Limit Events. According to her WPT Profile, not including the Women’s Event she has made over $180,000 cashing in four events over seasons 3, 4, and 5.
At one point Evelyn played for PokerStars, but in April, 2006 Evelyn signed a deal with Bodog, where she plays numerous online events and cash games. She has also appeared on television shows such as Poker After Dark and Poker Royale. Furthermore, she was on Criss Angel’s Mindfreak where he attempted to manipulate her play poorly. In addition she was featured in the video game Stacked alongside Negreanu.
Evelyn is also well known for her chip tricks at the table. She even has her own signature trick known as the “butterfly”. Her favorite places to play in Vegas are the Bellagio and the Mirage and when she is playing there she is hard to miss. She stands five feet 11 inches tall and is hot, and according to Shirley Rosario for poker-babes.com, she is as cool to talk to as to look at (on poker-babes.com there are some pretty nice pictures of her in a bikini too).
