Party Poker’s inaugural Pokerfest series begins this Sunday. Pokerfest 2011 touts 47 events spread out over 15 days, with buy-ins ranging from points only to the $640 main event. The main event will run on November 6th, with a hefty $1 million guaranteed prize pool.
Pokerfest 2011 includes a variety of No-Limit Holdem freezeout, rebuy and deepstack events. There are also a number of Pot-Limit Omaha and Fixed Limit Holdem events at each buy-in level.
Players will compete for an extra $100,000 in leaderboard prizes and up to $35,000 in “Jackpot” prizes. A drawing for PartyPoker store merchandise will also be held at the conclusion of Pokerfest 2011, where 500 players will be walking away with additional prizes.
The three tiered leaderboard will be a hit among all levels of players. $5,000 in additional prizes will be given away to the 250 top players in the points buy-in category. $30,000 will be given away to the top 500 players in the Low buy-in ($6-$33) category. $65,000 will be given away to the top 500 players in the High buy-in ($55+) category, with $5,000 going to the winner of this leaderboard tier.
The Jackpot prizes won’t be easy to get, but PartyPoker will be awarding $20,000 to the first player who is able to win any three Pokerfest tournaments. $10,000 will go to the first player to make the final table of any 10 Pokerfest tournaments. $5,000 will go to the first player to win cash in any 10 Pokerfest tournaments.
Finally, the prize draw for all participants of Pokerfest 2011 will give players a free shot at extra prizes. PartyPoker will be giving away 500 prizes including iPads, poker chip sets and other PartyPoker store merchandise. For each event entered, players will earn one ticket towards this drawing, to be held at the conclusion of Pokerfest 2011.
