PokerStars has Football Fever and, luckily for you, it’s contagious!
To celebrate this year’s World Cup, PokerStars is giving poker players the chance to play the game they love while cheering on their favorite football teams. Over the next several weeks, PokerStars will be awarding $1.7M in prizes to football fanatics around the world in competitions designed with them in mind.
To start, players can participate in Football Fever Daily Challenges that have a collective prize pool of $500,000. For each challenge they complete, individuals will get a ticket to a $10,000 All-In Shootout with $1,000 going to the event’s winner. The trick is that you have to register for the tournament that predicts the accurate ending scenario for an upcoming football match. You will have to make your pick out of three possible outcomes and if you’re right, you’ll be in the Shootout!
If you complete at least ten Football Fever Daily Challenges, you’ll have the opportunity to play in the Bonus Challenge All-In Shootout on June 28th at 15:05 ET. This tournament will have a $100,000 prize pool and the winner of it will get $10,000!
Through July 6th, you can play in Phase 1, $27 buy-in tournaments for a chance to participate in a Phase 2 tourney which has a whopping $1M guaranteed prize pool! The Phase 2 competition begins at 12:25 ET on Sunday, July 6th and the winner of it will get $100,000!
Phase 1 tournaments begin daily at 5:25, 10:25, 13:25 and 16:25 ET through July 5th; additional Phase 1 tourneys will be played on July 6th before the Phase 2 competition begins. You can play in as many Phase 1 tournaments as you wish, but once you secure a seat in the Phase 2 tourney you will not be able to play in additional Phase 1 competitions. Whatever number of chips you end the Phase 1 tournament that qualifies you for Phase 2 with is the same amount of chips you will start the Phase 2 tourney with.
You can play in satellites for seats in Phase 1 tournaments for as little as $1.00! When you’re in PokerStars’ lobby, just click on “Events” and then “Football Fever” to find the full schedule of Phase 1 tournaments and satellites.
Football Fever Mission Week begins on July 7th and wraps up on the 13th. During this time, you can complete a Sit & Go Mission, Ring Game Mission or Scheduled Tourney Mission for a ticket to one of three $75,000 All-In Shootout Tournaments! The winner of each tourney will get $7,500! These competitions begin at 14:05, 15:05 and 16:05 on July 16th.
