Poker players are known for their large egos. Often, they’ll throw challenges out to the general public claiming that they cannot be beat. The most famous of those challenges to date are the durrrr challenge and the Isildur challenge. These two challenges required huge bankrolls to accept and left microstakes players on the rail to watch; PokerStars is looking to change that. PokerStars’ will hold the Buddhaa Challenge where its first sponsored Bulgarian poker player, Simeon ‘IamBuddhaa’ Naydenov, is challenging all players to a heads-up match worth that can be ultimately worth $500.

Players looking to take on the Bulgarian poker professional must first qualify to do so. On Sunday of every week until November 13th, PokerStars will host an $11 multi-table tournament at 21:30 EET. It will pay out its standard prize pool plus a $500 stake granted to the winner to take on ‘IamBuddhaa.’ Players can even qualify for the final by placing in the top five during the daily (except for Sundays) qualifiers costing $0.55 to enter.

There will be a heads-up match between the Weekly Final winner and Buddhaa each week until November 22nd. The first heads-up match will be played on October 31st. The blinds will be set at $0.50/$1 with both players starting out deep stacked ($250). They may take a further rebuy of $250 at any time. The match will play for 200 hands. Players will keep their profit and return the $500 stake to PokerStars unless one player is able to take their opponent’s entire $500. In this case, PokerStars will allow the players to keep the full $1,000!

This is a fun promotion for PokerStars and its players. Whenever there can be a connection between the players and the professionals, it’s good for everybody. Good luck!
