PokerStars is set to host the 2010 World Championship of Online Poker starting September 5th. The tournament series will run for three weeks, culminating with the September 26th Main Event. The No-Limit Hold ‘Em Main Event will be held over two days, feature a gigantic $10 million guarantee, and cost players $5,200 for a shot a huge monetary prize, a WCOOP bracelet, and poker glory.
This tournament will certainly be the most popular in the series, but there are only a select group of players with the financial foundation to buy into this tournament. Luckily for those outside this group, PokerStars has set up a creative way for a chance at a seat to the Main Event. This road to the Main Event involves no poker but will certainly test a player’s knowledge and skills; it is the PokerStars WCOOP Poker Quiz.
The PokerStars WCOOP Poker Quiz is 101 questions on everything PokerStars. The tournament success of Team PokerStars, the parties, and everything in between is fair game to be asked in this quiz (Hint: they may even ask about a certain music video that a certain Team PokerStars Pro was featured in). Google is certainly allowed and there is no time limit to the test. It will test one’s search engine skills, though most answers can be found on the PokerStars Blog. Please note, however, that their archives are over five-years old and hold a lot of information. It will certainly be tedious, but is well-worth a seat to the WCOOP Main Event.
A seat to the Main Event will require that test-takers answer the quiz perfectly. No questions can be incorrect or they fail. Additionally, answers cannot be saved for later and players get only one entry. However, players shouldn’t totally quit if they get one question incorrect. All players that answer 90% or more questions correctly will win a ticket to a WCOOP freeroll on September 18th. The top nine finishers will win WCOOP seats worth $215 to $5,200 (for the Main Event). Players have until September 14th to submit their quiz so act quickly!
