WCOOP 2011

The World Championship of Online Poker started this past Sunday, and PokerStars wants everyone to get involved. There are daily satellites for those with bankrolls that can’t handle the large buy-ins and a fantastic leaderboard to celebrate the greatest achievements. The newest addition to 2011, however, is the WCOOP radio show. This exclusive radio show gives everyone the chance to follow the action as well as win some great prizes.

There are four different versions of the show: Russian, Spanish, German, and English. The show runs daily during the WCOOP, with each show lasting around an hour.

The radio show is presented by Joe Stapleton and Nick Wealthall. Fans of TV poker will recognize Stapleton as The PokerStars Big Game’s commentator where he provided hand analysis for two seasons. He is probably most well known for his great sense of humor. If you can’t enough of him, you can also find him hosting the Inside WCOOP TV highlights show starting September 13th.

Stapleton will co-host WCOOP radio

For several years now, Nick Wealthall has been a TV presenter for poker and other sports. You might have read one of his magazine columns in the past, or perhaps you have seen him host the UK & Ireland Poker Tour. Furthermore, Wealthall has also put together a handsome poker resume thanks to solid results in both tournaments and cash games.

PokerStars has come up with several ways to get their players involved with the show. One way is with the Daily Tourney. Every episode of the show will feature a $1 hyper tournament that will finish before the show ends. The winner of this tournament will be called on their phone live on the show, and they will win a $215 tournament ticket if they can tell the commentators the “phrase that pays/” This tournament ticket can be used in any PokerStars event worth $215.

Listeners will also have the chance to call in and win prizes. There are thousands of dollars in prizes up for grabs, and all you have to do is call when a prize is announced on air! Cash prizes are given out either as tournament tickets or T$.

If you like freerolls, be sure to listen carefully because a special password will be revealed each episode. This freeroll begins at the end of the show and awards 1,000 FPPs to the top 3 finishers. If you win the freeroll, you will be invited to appear on the next show. You will then have the chance to use a $27 Step 2 ticket or an option to compete for a Step 3 ticket instead. Keep in mind that the freeroll also has $0.10 rebuys.

And last but not least, there are weekly depositor freerolls to win seats to. Simply listen for a special bonus code and use it when you deposit into your account. Doing this will award you with a ticket for a tournament that has seats for WCOOP events.
