On Friday, Quebec launched the second regulated online casino in Canada. The province joined British Columbia, who launched North America’s first government-run online casino in July of this year.

Loto-Québec, a government agency that develops and operates lotteries in Quebec, announced of the launch of EspaceJeux.com. The site will offer blackjack, roulette, poker and other games, though the domain is not set to begin offering real-money games until the first day of December. There are plans to add sports betting in the future as well. The site is expected to create millions of dollars for the province.

The site will only be available to residents of Quebec and will offer many safeguards to protect players from becoming problem gamblers. For example, gamblers will only be allowed to bet up to $9,999 a week.

Earlier this year, B.C. Lottery Corp launched British Columbia’s online casino. Now the two companies are partnering on their online poker offerings, with the site being hosted in Montreal.
