Daniel Negreanu Wins his first Major Online Tournament

SCOOP 2013

SCOOP 2013

Face of PokerStars, and arguably one of the most influential people in Poker, Daniel Negreanu won his first Major Online Poker tournament in this year’s SCOOP Series.

Daniel has been on fire recently, winning the WSOP APAC Main Event, and making the Final Table at the EPT Grand Final, and bubbling the final table at the WPT World Championship.

Daniel took home $216,000 for winning the SCOOP $5,200 PLO event. He posted about the win on Twitter soon after the final hand:

Shaun Deeb Doesn’t Win Everything

That should probably be “Shaun Deeb Doesn’t Win ANYTHING!” It’s not meant as a burn to one of the greats online players of all time, but after his amazing run last year, he was expected to pick up at least one SCOOP Title this year. He did get close, with a second in SCOOP 04 High, the $2,100 FL Badugi, and another second in SCOOP 23 Medium, the $109 Rebuy PLO 6-Max Turbo. With a fifth place in SCOOP 24 High as well, Deeb wasn’t playing badly. It must have just been the universe resetting after last year’s amazing run. He made the top 10 in both the High and Overall Leader boards just to hammer home the point.

SCOOP Leader Boards

If you know him, you might want to ask George Danzer to hold you close, as he has not only just won the High SCOOP leader board, but taken the Overall one as well. He won the High leader board by over 100 points after playing 42 qualifying events. The Overall title was a little tighter, as he only won by 35 points, but he had played 130 events, nearly twice what the player in second had managed. The Medium leader board went to Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick, who had 40 qualifying events earning him the 295 points that won him the title, 40 points clear of second place. The Low board went to PokerStars Tem Pro member, Marcin “Goral” Horecki. Horecki had a 35 point cushion after his 44 events played. All the winners have earned a trophy for the mantelpiece and a 2014 PCA Package for their troubles, and Danzer is also the first person signed up to the 2014 EPT Grand Final.

Viktor “Isildur1” Blom Wins Main Event (high)

Viktor Blom has managed to win his third SCOOP title, and this one was the big one. Viktor won the high Main Event, and took home over a million dollars. The Full Tilt Professional over turned a 3:1 chip lead for Noah “Exclusive” Boeken to take the title. You can find a full write up of the final table here. Viktor was obviously happy with his third title, and tweeted this to his followers:

Viktor’s win brought the 2013 SCOOP to a close, and left player focussing on two new targets. the WSOP in Vegas starting this week, and the Guangdong Asia Millions starting on the 5th of June. FTR will be covering both of these, with updates on the WSOP Events, and Live Streaming of the action from Macau. Keep an eye on our social media, for more details.
