With FTOPS XIX kicking it into high gear this weekend there was almost too much action to follow in the online tournament world. Between PokerStars Sunday majors and a handful of big events on FullTilt players everywhere had the opportunity for a massive weekend cash. For more in depth write-ups on individual FTOPS XIX events be sure to check out the FlopTurnRiver News Section.

While FullTilt was churning out FTOPS events PokerStars was busy trying to keep up. The world’s largest online poker site did its best to compete with FullTilt as all five of its Sunday majors easily surpassed their respective guarantees. One tournament making a big splash was the $750,000 guaranteed Sunday Warm-Up. The day’s earliest major had come awfully close to the $1,000,000 prize pool mark on numerous occasions lately only to fall just short. That all changed yesterday as more than 5,100 players entered the $200+$15 event creating a massive $1,033,000 prize pool. With more than $160,000 slated for the winner the final table was a spirited one. Former Sunday Million winner Daniel “ziggy47” Bokesch was on hand looking for yet another major victory. After an hour of play he found himself heads up with “tytkto” and the two decided a chip chop was best. Per PokerStars rules there had to be $10,000 left in the middle which eventually went to tytkto who earned $151,936 once all the dust settled. The six figure score was the 2nd of his career and backed up a 3rd place finish in the Million last June.

While the Warm-Up saw a nice increase in their attendance the Million was not quite as fortunate. Still, with nearly 8,700 players participating in the day’s biggest major there was more than enough money on hand at the final table. With over $820,000 on the line at the final table there was all kinds of action as players postured for the pole position. The final table had a little bit of everything including a double knock-out hand which sent “rjmgrace” and “zoro457” to the rail simultaneously in 8th and 7th place. The action was fast and furious as “keyzerrr” barreled his way through the field on his way to the Million victory and a quarter million dollar payday. Taking home second place and $186,942 was “pink_outs”. Below you can find the final table stacks, bust-out hands, and payouts:

The Sunday500 cruised past its $500,000 guarantee yesterday as just over 1,100 players entered the day’s priciest major. The $500+$30 event seems to attract the best players in the world and always leads to a great final table. This past Sunday was no exception as a handful of well known tournament professionals made their way to the final table to battle it out for the $93,840 first place prize. Highlighting those in contention were Jonathan “FatalError” Aguiar and Eric “Ericb09” Blair, two well respected MTT professionals who have seen great success online including this very event. Aguiar actually shipped the Sunday500 back in July 2009 for $87,400 and before yesterday Blair had earned a runner-up finish for $64,125 in December 2009. That past frustration was about to be alleviated as Blair was able to take down “el_klonkador” heads-up for the title earning $93,840 in the process.

The Sunday $215 re-buy also produced a solid final table with a few familiar faces. Two players at opposite ends of the final table spectrum were Ryan “ryanbluf” Karp who finished in 9th place for just $3,433 and David “SexSeen” Sands who won the $215r for a nice $40,221 payday. Both players are highly ranked online MTT pros who have won majors in the past. Karp is no stranger to the STR having finished 2nd in the $500k last June for $65,000 as well as finishing 2nd in this very event a month earlier for $26,474. Overall he has an enormous amount of $20,000+ scores on a resume that is highlighted by an FTOPS win back in 2008 for $121,184. While it is hard to outdo Karp’s resume, it actually comes quite easily for Sands. He has multiple major victories to his name including wins in the $500k, $750k, $1k Monday, Sunday Mulligan, $215r, and FTOPS Event #10 in 2009. The top-25 ranked pro once again proved his worth yesterday as he shipped the $215r for the 2nd time of his career after outlasting “Little Kraut” for the title.

The final event of the day on PokerStars was quite the well rounded one. With a perfect 1,500 players on hand creating a $300,000 prize pool, everything was neat and clean at the Sunday Second Chance final table. Two big names, Jamie “pokerjamers” Armstrong and Kenny “SpaceyFCB” Hallaert made their way to the final table in hopes of shipping the $54,120 first place prize. Both players have already graced the STR in 2011 each finishing 6th in a major earlier this year. Hallaert, who won the Sunday Warm-Up back in 2009, finished 6th for $12,750. While he was unable to make it to heads-up play the same could not be said for Armstrong who took one “JD9712” for the title. While things did not work out well for Armstrong yesterday there is little reason to feel sorry for a pro who has more than a handful of $50,000+ scores to his name.

With FTOPS XIX going on there was only one regular major running on FullTilt yesterday. The $200,000 Guaranteed Sunday Mulligan ran alongside the FTOPS events giving players an extra shot at a big Sunday score. With more than 1,200 players in the field, the winner’s share grew to over $53,000 late Sunday afternoon. Approximately 20 FullTilt sponsored professionals were on hand looking to make a splash including Gavin Smith, Jeff Madsen, and John Racener.  Caio Pimenta, a relatively unknown pro, nearly made the final table before busting in 12th place. Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene was the class of the final table but could not get anything going before busting in 8th place for just $5,082.
