Season IX of the gauntlet is set to begin Sunday, May 30.
The season runs for 3 months and features over 25 different tournaments. Events will take place every Wednesday and every Saturday or Sunday. Check out the schedule here. The season culminates in the $55 Main Event on Sunday, August 22. Players can play in as many games that they wish, but only the 12 best finishes will count towards your FTR Gauntlet score.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers. In addition to a cash prize, the winner of the Gauntlet be rewarded with a gorgeous trophy and custom forum title. The top ten finishers will receive an invitation to the Tournament of Champions which is scheduled to take place on August 29.
Season nine features a variety of games and tournament formats. In addition to No Limit Hold ‘Em, players will be able to register for PLO and PLO8 games. Six max and heads-up formats will keep the action fresh and exciting. Buy-ins range from $5.50 to $11.
FTR occasionally throws in extra prizes, like gear from FlopTurnRiver.com and PokerStars’ swag. Don’t forget to check out the forums and see if there is a bounty on someone’s head. When it comes down to it, the FTR Gauntlet is all about having fun. Talking smack to fellow posters, 5-bet bluffing those same posters, and meeting new forum members is what the Gauntlet is all about.
