Players can argue for ages about which poker room is the best and there are good arguments for many of them. However, no one can argue with size. If you are a recreational player, you don’t want to wait for ages on waiting lists and if you’re a pro, having a vast selection of tables is always welcome.

It probably won’t come as a surprise to the majority of poker players that most of the biggest poker rooms are located in the US. In fact, only one poker room outside of the US can even compare! With that in mind, let’s take a look at which poker rooms are the biggest in the world.

10. Rio Hotel & Casino

The Rio shouldn’t actually be on this list at all since there are plenty of bigger poker rooms around. In fact, for most of the year, the Rio’s poker room is one of the more modest ones in Las Vegas, only offering around 10 cash game tables and small daily tournaments.

However, at the beginning of every summer, the Rio transforms its poker room into the biggest one in the world to host the World Series of Poker. The number of tables jumps into the hundreds until the end of July, with some of the biggest tournaments of the year and all kinds of cash games running.

Now, if the Rio was able to hold up this action year-round, it would easily clinch the first place spot on this list, but since the WSOP is held in a conference center rather than a real dedicated poker room, the Rio gets last place in the largest poker room list.

9. Horseshoe Southern Indiana

One of the most famous casinos in the US and the birthplace of the WSOP still has one of the largest poker rooms to this day. The main disadvantage of the Horseshoe is the fact that it’s so far away from most major cities, and yet, this makes for some of the best action at the poker tables in the US.

Since there aren’t many poker pros who are willing to go to such lengths as moving to Louisville to play live full-time at the Horseshoe, most of the players you will meet there will be recreational players. With over 30 cash game tables running every day, that’s a lot of juicy action.

All of the most popular games are spread in the Horseshoe, from No Limit Hold’em to Pot Limit Omaha and even Seven Card Stud. So, if you are ever in the Midwest, you should definitely check this place out.

8. Rozvadov’s Poker Arena

Located in the heart of Prague (Czech Republic), Rozvadov’s Poker Arena is in fact the only non-US poker room on this list. Despite being the largest poker room in Europe, Rozvadov’s is still only the eighth biggest in the world, featuring around 40 regularly running cash game tables.

Along with cash games, Rozvadov’s features a great selection of daily tournaments and tournament series. Perhaps the most popular is the GCOP (German Championship of Poker), which attracts the best European players as well as pros from all over the world.

The Czech Republic has long been known as one of the European Meccas of poker and the fact that the continent’s largest poker room is situated in its capital is only fitting. So if you are looking for a European poker destination, this is the one!

7. The Bellagio

As soon as most poker players think about the Bellagio, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘Bobby’s Room,’ which hosts the biggest cash games in the world. Despite being the home of this iconic poker area, the Bellagio has a fairly modest poker room overall.

The 7,000 square foot poker room hosts 40 regularly running tables, though it does feature some of the highest stakes in Vegas. Apart from the regular No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha tables, players can also find Seven Card Stud and Mixed Game tables with stakes as high as $40/$80.

The Bellagio’s poker room also offers very decent daily tournament action, not to mention being one of the stops for the famous World Poker Tour and other tournament series.

6. The Venetian

Despite being only sixth on this list, the Venetian hosts the largest poker room in Vegas, featuring 60 tables since opening in 2006. Along with a great selection of games and stakes, the Venetian poker room also offers Omaha Hi/Lo tables, which is quite rare for any poker room.

The Venetian poker room is especially famous for its Deep Stack Tournament Series, during which dozens of extra tables are added. These events attract hundreds of players, making for some of the best games on the strip. Another thing most poker pros might enjoy is the fact that the Venetian has one of the few poker rooms in Las Vegas that doesn’t take extra rake for bad beat jackpots.

5. The Borgata

Just like the Venetian in Vegas, Atlantic City saw Borgata open its doors in 2006, offering a vast poker room with 85 regularly running tables. With so many tables, players can enjoy all kinds of games and stakes as high as $300/$600.

The Borgata poker room also features a separate tournament section, which comes in handy for running daily tournaments. Since the Borgata is also one of the stops for the World Poker Tour, you can also find satellites to the WPT and other major events.

While Atlantic City is going through some hard times as a whole, Borgata seems to be doing very well despite several casinos already closing their doors. The fact that Borgata’s poker room is very well run and attractive to players is one of the factors for Borgata’s success despite the overall downturn in Atlantic City’s casino business.

4. Trump Taj Mahal

While the Borgata poker room enjoys its standing as the largest poker room in Atlantic City, the Taj Mahal’s poker room, similar in size to Borgata’s, closed its doors a little more than a month ago following the Taj Mahal’s general bankruptcy filing.

Despite closing its doors, the poker room is simply under renovation while Taj changes ownership, after which it will open once again in July, hopefully featuring an even bigger game selection. The Taj is currently in the process of being acquired by investor, Carl Icahn, who has also put up $20 million to keep the Taj open through the bankruptcy proceedings.

3. Foxwoods Resort

With over 300,000 feet of gaming space, Foxwoods is the largest casino in the world, offering thousands of slots, table games and one of the largest poker rooms in the world with over 125 tables.

Players can find all kinds of games spread at Foxwoods’ tables, including Limit and No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/lo, Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo. One of the best things about Foxwoods is that daily tournaments aren’t all Hold’em like most poker rooms, with Omaha and Seven Cards Stud tournaments also on the list.

Foxwoods is one of the stops for the World Poker Tour and also host to the Foxwoods Poker Classic, which is held every spring and attracts hundreds of players to this great resort.

2. The Bicycle Casino

California is home to the two largest poker rooms in the world, with the second largest being the famous Bicycle Casino poker room. Featuring 135 tables, it hard to imagine not finding a suitable game when you get there. This is also the poker room that was first to spread now popular games like Pineapple.

While the poker room may be less than half-full on some weekdays, the weekends usually see it packed to capacity. ‘The Bike’ also hosts some of the largest tournament series in the world, including the Mega Millions Series, CardPlayer Poker Tour and The Legends of Poker.

And finally, we get to the biggest poker room in the world. The Commerce poker room is the biggest by a pretty big margin, hosting over 200 tables. Whether you feel like hitting the Limit Hold’em or Omaha Hi/Lo tables, you will definitely find a game here at any time of day.
