Check out the first official trailer of the upcoming online poker movie Runner, Runner, starring Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck. The film is written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, creators of Rounders, Ocean’s 13, and The Runaway Jury. The flick also stars Anthony Mackie and Gemma Arterton.
Timberlake plays Princeton student Richie Furst, a math whiz who tries to win money playing online poker in order to cover his $60,000 tuition costs. Despite early winnings, Richie is cheated out of his money and loses it all. He eventually travels to Costa Rica to confront the poker site’s owner, Ivan Block (Affleck). Block takes Furst under his wing and makes him his protégé, showing Richie what a live of luxury is like. Along the way, Richie discovers the truth behind Block and finds himself on the run from both the FBI and Block.
