The 5th annual UBOC is slated to begin tomorrow, August 18.
The UBOC is UB’s version of the PokerStars’ WCOOP or Full Tilt’s FTOPS. UBOC features $4 million in guaranteed prize money and an assortment of poker games besides the popular No Limit Hold ‘Em format. Omaha and H.O.R.S.E. are among the more popular. A heads up event snuck into the schedule this year as well. The Main Event, hosted by Phil Hellmuth, marks the end of the series on August 29.
Just hosting twenty tournaments is not enough to hang with the big boys. UB knows this and has lined up a host of promotions.
The Bubble Buster looks like it could be worth a ton of money. Through the Bubble Buster promo UB will award players money just for cashing a UBOC event. Cash in more than seven events and you will be rewarded cold hard cash up to $1,000,000. All you have to do is make it in the money! Players who cash between 2 and 6 events will win tournament entries.
Who needs a virtual Gold Jersey? UB is sending UBOC Champions bling fit for a king. Warn your house guests not to stare directly into the watch unless they want to become blind. Knock out a UB pro and you will be gifted with a T-Shirt and $200 tournament dollars. Is there anything more satisfying than knocking out Phill Hellmuth?
UB also encourages players to satellite into the same event multiple times. Multiple seat winners will be rewarded with tournament dollars. The top satellite seat earner for each event will receive the equivalent of two tournament entries on top of their tournament dollars. The runner-up will be rewarded with tournament dollars equal to one additional entry fee. Players will also be entered into $5,000 freerolls.
