The Full Tilt Online Poker Series is one of the most talked about series of online poker tournaments in the industry. The buy-ins are usually quite large as are the prize pools. Most micro and low stakes players have a hard time buying into the tournaments. For this reason, Full Tilt Poker started running a MiniFTOPS poker series which follows the same schedule as the FTOPS at one-tenth of the original buy-in.

MiniFTOPS Event #5 was a six-max tournament that allowed all players to rebuy and add-on once. The rebuy, add-on, and original buy-in cost players $20 + $2. Full Tilt Poker guaranteed a $250,000 prize pool. 5,979 players registered for the tournament with 3,496 rebuying and 2,854 adding on at the break. Full Tilt Poker was required to lay out $3,420 to cover the guarantee which meant the tournament was extra lucrative for those that registered.

Eunjong Byun, an ex-professional gamer, hosted Event MiniFTOPS Event #5. The South Korean began his professional gaming career in 2002 with the STX Soul Team to play Starcraft. He’s won three major Starcraft tournaments winning over $300,000 before retiring in 2008. He was introduced to poker in 2006 and started at 100NL. He grinded through the stakes and became a professional in 2008. Unfortunately, he didn’t have much luck in this tournament, finishing 4,216th.

Vresta beat out the field of 5,979 to win $44,005 after he struck a deal with br0keFTW who took home $33,000. The final table resulted as follows:

1st – vresta – $44,005
2nd – br0keFTW – $33,000
3rd – chaosdamage – $20,300
4th – money-today – $15,000
5th – Effi101 – $11,000
6th – muelling87 – $7,500

Congratulations to vresta on his huge win!
