The weekend tournament report comes at you on Tuesday this week. Instead of a full version, we’re going to go with a special Thanksgiving abbreviated write-up. There wasn’t anything too interesting going on in online tournaments this weekend. The biggest news might have come from bwin who appears to have increased the guarantee of their biggest weekly event to a cool quarter-million dollars. The $200 buy-in $250k attracted more than 1,300 players this week, allowing it to surpass its new guarantee. Other sites fared nicely as well, including PokerStars which continues to dominate the online poker scene.
Online events should continue to ramp up on Stars as they are running a 10-year anniversary promotion as we speak. Also, as the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure nears, there will be more and more players online attempting to qualify for the $10,000 Main Event. The PCA is one of the best events of the year, as it allows players to leave the cold weather in their homelands and head off to the sunny and beautiful Bahamas.
