WSOP.com is currently the most popular legal online poker room in the Nevada regulated market. But that doesn’t mean that the site is resting on its laurels; it’s offering a full suite of promotions to players during the month of May. If you’ve yet to create your WSOP.com account, then read our WSOP.com poker review for all the details about this reputable poker operator.
WSOP.com is also active in the New Jersey market, and anyone interested in the May promos in that state can peruse our separate page on WSOP.com New Jersey May promos.
The Colossal XXII
The Colossus tournament debuted at the WSOP in 2015 and was such a success, with 22,374 players participating, that the organizers are bringing it back for a second year. Featuring six starting flights held over a period of three days, the Colossus II will cost $565 to enter and will award the winner a guaranteed $1 million prize.
You can earn your seat into this exciting and massive tourney by playing the $22 R&A Colossal XXII satellite tournament only at WSOP.com Nevada. The prizes consist of 22 entries into the $565 event. The Colossal XXII will take place on June 3 at 5 p.m.
To win your seat for even less of an investment, partake in the $2 re-entry Mega Colossal satellites, running every day from May 1 to June 2 at 6:15 p.m. These tournaments award $22 seats into the Colossal XXII.
Top Up Turbo
Event #4 on this year’s WSOP schedule has the interesting name “$1,000 Top Up Turbo No Limit Hold’em.” The way this tourney works is that it costs $1,000 to enter, and players will receive 5,000 starting chips when the tournament begins on June 5. But they will be able to get another 5,000 chips by either paying an additional $1,000 at the time of registration or by winning them as part of the Top Up Turbo online at WSOP.com
Simply register for any $55 WSOP Top Up Turbo SNG (10-handed) in the poker client, come in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, and the extra chips will be yours. You’ll still receive the normal prize pool as usual; the extra chips for the live event are given out on top of the regular prizes.
These special SNGs will run from May 1 – June 4. Some quick calculations show that the value of the additional chips is more than the total buyins paid into the sit and go, so this represents a sick overlay that every poker player worth his salt should take full advantage of. You’ll still compete for the normal prize pool anyway, so there’s truly nothing to lose.
Bankroll Builders Tournament Series
Poker aficionados who prefer playing for micro-stakes would do well to take a look at the WSOP.com Bankroll Builders Tournament Series. Consisting of three events a day from May 15 – June 1, this series caters to those with small bankrolls because each tournament costs $1 or less to enter. Most of the events will be held in No Limit Hold’em format, but there are a few that will feature Pot Limit Omaha. There are freezeouts, rebuy-and-addon events, and re-entry tournaments on the schedule.
Compete for one of 10 leaderboard prizes by playing in as many of these events as possible. The leaderboard winner will take home a $200 tournament ticket while places 2 – 9 will divide up a further $132 in tourney tickets.
If you’re a regular player at WSOP.com in New Jersey, but you’re going to be in Vegas for the World Series, then the Nevada Matchup offer is for you. From May 1 – July 31, you can email the poker site and request to have your Action Club status in New Jersey transferred over to your account in Nevada. This sure beats starting in the rewards program completely from scratch. Anyone who has achieved Silver level or higher can participate in this offer.
