Here we go, the start of the second week of the 2013 WSOP, and we have 17 new bracelets in circulation, as well as a lot of prize money. The 10th of June saw only one final table, but we have action in another three events to bring you.

Event #17

Event #17 came to a close with the longest name of a bracelet winner this year. Athanasios Polychronopoulos now has a second bracelet to go with his Bracelet from 2011 in the same $1,500 NLHE event. He takes home $518,755 to add to his jewellery collection.

The final table ended up like this:

Event #18

Day two of the $1,000 NLHE Event #18 saw 163 players cut down to just 14, to head into the final day. Players who didn’t make it through the day included David Plastik (129th for $2,320), David Williams (120th for $2,320), Matt Affleck (66th for $4,016), and Dominik Nitsche (16th for $12,413). the big name heading into Day 3 is Phil Ivey, who is going for his first NLHE bracelet, and is sitting in 9th in the chip counts.

The top ten stacks going into the final day are:

Event #19

16 players are coming back to battle for the $224,560 first place prize for the $5,000 Pot Limit Hold’em event, unfortunately for them, Jason Mercier (22nd for $7,881) and Paul Volpe (25th for $7,881) will not be returning as the busted just after the bubble. Notable names still in include bro-mance Elky (77,600) and Eugene Katchalov (121,500) as well as Dario Minieri (265,000) Dan Kelly (283,500) and Davidi Kitai (318,000).

Event #20

1,014 players entered Day 1 of the $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo split 8 or Better Event #20, but only 219 are going into Day 2. Making the journey back to the Amazon Room include Max Pescatori (13,200) Todd Brunson (14,200), Mike “The Mouth” Matusow (23,700) and FTR’s own Max Steinberg (36,300). Players who won’t be starting Day 2 include Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer, and Matt Savage.

Player of the Year

There hasn’t been much movement in the Player of the year standings over night, with just the climg of Athanasios Polychronopoulos into the top ten after his win the Event #17. This bumps Levi Berger out of the top ten, but nothing else has changed in these standings. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this to see is Daniel Negreanu’s lead is overtaken soon.
