Saturday saw the One Drop Event #47 keep on grabbing the limelight, as it overran it’s scheduled time, over shadowing some of the other smaller events. We still managed to grab the information to bring you all the important action from the Rio

Event #47

We have a new One Drop Champion in Anthony Gregg, who has triumphed over the 4 handed extra day added to the event. The extra day was added after play had run through the three scheduled days, and we were still left with four players, including last year’s One Drop winner, Antonio Esfandiari. If you want to know how Gregg managed to emerge triumphant with a $4,830,619 pay day, we’ll have a full report from the final table published later. Until then, this is how the final nine got paid:

Event #49

This event may have created my favourite moment of the series so far. Poker Legend, Barny Boatman, was able to beat out 2,246 other players to take his first bracelet in the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Event #49. Barny is one of the driving forces behind the Hendon Mob website that is so helpful as a resource for players and poker media alike. The $546,080 cheque for winning the event is very much going to have been a secondary concern for Barny, given this was his first title, and he has been so close before. A full report will be up later, but until then, you’ll have to make do with the final table payouts:

  1. Barny Boatman – $546,080
  2. Brain O’Donoghue – $338,745
  3. Van Tran – $239,339
  4. Tara Kripps – $172,087
  5. Aditya Prasetyo – $125,372
  6. Robin Ylitalo – $92,550
  7. Paul DaSilva – $69,192
  8. Noah Sandler – $52,387
  9. Roger Lussier – $40,162

Event #50

We also have a winner in the $2,500 10 Game Mix 6-Max Event #50 when Brandon Wong picked up the bracelet and $220,061 by beating Sebastian Saffari heads up. The day started with 20 players, and players were eliminated in a steady stream. A full report will be up later today, covering the action from the final table. Until then, you’ll just have to make do with the final table payouts.

  1. Brandon Wong – $220,061
  2. Sebastian Saffari – $135,932
  3. Philip Sternheimer – $87,397
  4. Christopher Geroge – $57,954
