Event #59: 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball (Limit)

Event 59, a $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball tournament, drew 282 players generating a prize pool of $641,550.
Apart from Michael Mizrachi who finished in 9th place, there were not many more notable finishes in the money and for a good reason, too. The final table of 6 was perhaps this years’ toughest final table with all 6 players being accomplished pro’s.

Perhaps the biggest name at the final table was five-time bracelet winner and WSOP APAC Main Event champion Daniel Negreanu. Long with Daniel bracelet winners Scott Seiver, David “ODB” Baker, David Chiu and Eli Elezra were also looking for another win. All the players at the final table combined accounted for 13 bracelets and more than $13 million in career WSOP earnings.

Eventually it was Eli Elezra, who after a laid back heads up battle outlasted Daniel Negreanu earning his second gold bracelet and $173,236. Negreanu held the chip lead during much of the final table, but heads up just didn’t go his way as Elezra took full advantage.

Along with the great accomplishment of Eli and Daniel, Chiu and Seiver became the 41st and 42nd players to make multiple final table appearances at the 2013 WSOP.

Final table results

1 Eli Elezra – $173,236
2 Daniel Negreanu – $107,055
3 Brian Brubaker – $70,743
4 David Chiu – $48,077
5 David “ODB” Baker – $33,399
6 Scott Seiver – $23,698

Event #58: The Little One for One Drop No-Limit Hold’em

With the buy in x100 times smaller than The Big One for One Drop, 4,756 players took to the felt, each putting up $1,111, 3% of which goes directly to the One Drop foundation. The final prize pool for the event is $4,280,400 and now only 67 players are left standing. At this point it is Joseph Wilson who is leading the pack with 983,000.

Event #60: No-Limit Hold’em

Kicking off a day after The Little One For One Drop, this $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event also attracted a sizable crowd as 2,541 players showed up. After two days of play 297 players remain with Joe Froehle holding the lead with 144,200 chips.

Event #61: Pot-Limit Omaha

And finally, the biggest PLO event is now in full swing with some of the world top pro’s putting up $10,000 to capture this prestigious bracelet. A total of 386 Players entered this event, creating a $3,628,400 prize pool. After the first day of play 169 remain and the leaderboard is filled with big names gunning for the win. The chipleader is Matt O’Donne with 269,200 chips, but he is only slightly ahead of 2010 Main Event champ Jonathan Duhamel who is sitting with 253,000 chips. Also nearing the top is Joseph Cheong (244,800), Daniel Alaei (111,800) and Ben Tollerene (89,300) and also Boston Celtics and NBA All-Star Paul Pierce is in 13th place with 143,100 chips.

It will be very interesting to see how events transpire in the coming days, especially with the mother of all tournament – The WSOP Main Event scheduled for kickoff in less than a day, but you can be sure that FTR will bring you all the highlights of each day!
