The Canadian player, who goes by the screen name XWINK on FullTiltPoker, is widely known in the online world as a risk taker. Back in late 2009, he went on a tear in the Ultimate Bet Pot-Limit Omaha games under “XBLINK” after winning an $11 buy-in entry tournament for $750. Through the next few weeks he climbed up stakes all the way to the nosebleeds.

Recently, he has a new triumphant story. This time he has turned $4k all the way into a $2 million bank roll in only four days! Pretty impressive and a great, happy story some would think. Not so fast! Unfortunately for him, his multi-million winnings would come crashing down in a hurry.

During the first weekend of March, XWINK, or “89blist” as he goes by on the poker forum 2+2, was feeling ambitious, not to mention pretty confident. As if making a profit of around $2 million in four days was not enough, XWINK was determined to pad his bankroll even more. He signed into Full Tilt Poker awaiting any nosebleed action he could get. And action he would get.

XWINK’s first opponent would be Norwegian phenomenon Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen. This match would prove to be a very aggressive one with Torbergsen getting the best of it. At one point Torbergsen had piled up a chip stack of over $1 million on one of their five tables. XWINK managed to gain a little bit of it back, but would ultimately show a negative profit in the battle.

The war path would not get any easier for XWINK, but he showed no fear. He would go on to face elite poker pros such as Phil Ivey, Cole South, Daniel “Jungleman12” Cates and NoParasan. All four of these pros would come out a winner in their sessions vs. XWINK. South gained the most winning at $514k, Ivey with $266k, Cates with $253k and NoParasan rounded it out with $159k.

As tough as this hit was, XWINK/89blist was not hesitant to briefly share on 2+2 what happened during his crazy week. In his bullet listing response, he sarcastically talks about how his (lack of) bankroll management skills quickly earned him the the nice chunk of change at first. He plans on withdrawing about half of what he has left and playing nosebleed games with the other just to entertain the 2+2 community. If he does, be sure to keep an eye out for some fearless and entertaining matches.
