While FTOPS XIX winded down, the action remained hot as 1,895 ponied up $100+9 to play in FTOPS Event #41, a No Limit Hold’em Rush Poker rebuy. Full Tilt guaranteed a prize pool of $600,000 but after all the entries and rebuys, the prize pool escalated to $823,600!
The host of Event 41 was Red Pro Andy Black. Black made the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event in 2005 and finished 5th, collecting $1.75 million. Black had a good showing in his event, finishing 146th for $947.14.
The rest of the Red Pros had a very good showing in this tournament, as well. Of the 39 pros that participated, 10 placed high enough to cash, including Huck Seed, who finished 76th, David Chiu, who finished 30th and Stuart Patterson, who finished 7th and won $20,590.
The player who had the best showing was zavor4ik. He outlasted a tough field, including a final table that included a red pro on his way to a $133,105.60 payday. The win topped zavor4ik’s former largest cash, when he won $107,757 after finishing second in a Sunday $750k Guaranteed in 2009.
