All the high stakes action was on the Omaha tables yesterday, where Omaha specialist Ziigmund managed to pick up slightly over a quarter million dollars. There was even several heads up matches between Ziigmund and Full Tilt red pro Brian Hastings (who has proved his skills in Omaha many times before) running at the same time. Unfortunately for Hastings, Ziigmund seemed to be getting the best of him all day long.
The day didn’t start off so great for Ziigmund, as he lost a big pot to MR B 2 U SON. Ziigmund raised from early position and was called by both durrrr and MR B 2 U SON. The flop came 9s 6c 3s and the action was checked around to durrrr who bet $2850. MR B 2 U SON called and then Ziigmund reraised to almost $16k. This raise was called by both the other players and the turn was the Ah. MR B 2 U SON checked it to Ziigmund who bet just over $47k. Durrrr was already all in and could not call the bet, but MR B 2 U SON called and the river brought the 8h. MR B 2 U SON checked to Ziigmund again who pushed the rest of his stack in. MR B 2 U SON called the almost $22k bet and showed a nine high straight, which beat Ziigmund’s three aces. Durrrr mucked his hand and MR B 2 U SON picked up the $185k pot.

Shortly after that hand, Ziigmund and Brian Hastings, along with rafiboy, would get it all in preflop in a pot totaling over $210k. Ziigmund was first to raise preflop and his $1400 raise was then reraised by Hastings up to $4400. Rafiboy called Hastings’ raise, but then Ziigmund raised again up to almost $18k. Hastings called this raise, however rafiboy then decided he wanted to raise and pushed all in, driving it up to over $48k. After this, Ziigmund then pushed all in and was called by Hastings. Ziigmund turned over 4h 6c Kc Ah, rafiboy showed Ac Qs Ad 4c, and Brian Hastings showed 3c 8d Jd 7c. The flop came Th 6d 2h, which gave Ziigmund a pair of sixes with a flush draw and Hastings a gutshot straight draw. However rafiboy was still ahead with his aces. The turn was the 5s, turning Hastings draw into an open ended straight draw. The river paired the board with another 6, giving Ziigmund three of a kind and the win in the pot worth $211,554.

On the IveyMix table where Ziigmund, Hastings, and durrrr were battling it out, Ziigmund raised preflop to $3.5k. This was reraised by Hastings to $11.5k, which was called by Ziigmund. After the action died down on the other tables, Hastings and Ziigmund were left playing heads up. Hastings raised preflop to $1200, and Ziigmund, who was dealt Kh 9d Qs Td, reraised to $3600. Hastings made the call and the flop came 4s Ad Jc, giving Ziigmund a decent wrap for the nut straight. Ziigmund bet out $5200 with this wrap and was called by Hastings. The turn was the Kd, giving Ziigmund the nut straight, and now all he had to worry about was a diamond or board pair on the river. He again led out on the turn for $15.6k and was once again called by Hastings. The river was the 5c, meaning all Hastings could hope for was a tie in the pot. Ziigmund bet $48k this time, and Hastings again called behind. Ziigmund showed his nut straight and Hastings mucked, allowing Ziigmund to add another $73k to his stack.
