Poker Host describes its VIP program, Platinum Reward, as “one of the most generous reward programs in the online poker industry.” Since you can use the points you accumulate as a Platinum Reward player to buy the latest electronic gadgets, cash bonuses, entries in both live and online tournaments and much, much more in Poker Host’s online store, it seems Poker Host has a right to boast that Platinum Reward really is one of the best VIP programs around.
Prestige Points vs Master Points
As a Platinum Reward member, you’ll earn two types of points when you play real money cash games or participate in fee-based tournaments at Poker Host: Prestige Points and Master Points. The number of Prestige Points you accumulate determines your Platinum Reward level. Master Points are the equivalent of cash that you can use in Poker Host’s online store. The rate at which you earn Master Points is contingent upon your Platinum Reward level.
Earning Prestige Points
You have to play in real money cash games or pay a fee to participate in a tournament to earn Prestige Points. You will get 5.5 Prestige Points for every $1.00USD you pay in tournament fees. So, if you play in a $10+$1 tournament, you will get 5.5 Prestige Points because you will have paid a $1.00 fee to participate in the tourney.
Poker Host uses the Dealt Rake Method to divvy up the Prestige Points generated in cash games. This means that you don’t have to actually play your cards or contribute to the rake to get Prestige Points. Instead, all you have to do to get Prestige Points from a given hand is be dealt cards. Even if you fold your cards without putting money in the pot, you’ll get a portion of the Prestige Points generated by the hand.
Poker Host awards 5.5 Prestige Points for every $1.00USD of rake. If there are five people at your table, you fold your cards and a $5.00 rake results from the action in the hand, you will still get one-fifth, or 5.5, of the 27.5 Prestige Points that will be split between you and your table mates as a result of the hand.
Platinum Reward Levels
Poker Host has both monthly and yearly Platinum Reward levels. The monthly levels are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond, while the annual ones are Executive Platinum and Platinum Elite. The level you reach determines the rate at which you will earn Master Points, which are the points you can use as cash in Poker Host’s online store.
Monthly Platinum Reward Levels
Once you enroll in the Platinum Reward program, you will be on the Bronze level. At this level, you will earn one Master Point for every Prestige Point you accumulate. You’ll need to amass 750 Prestige Points to reach the Silver level. At the Silver level, you’ll collect 1.5 Master Points for each Prestige Point you are awarded. You’ll be at the Gold level after you earn 3,000 Prestige Points. Gold members get 2 Master Points for each Prestige Point they accumulate. You’ll reach the next level, Diamond, when you have earned 7,500 Prestige Points in a single calendar month. People at this level collect 2.5 Master Points every time they receive a Prestige Point by playing in cash games or fee-based tournaments.
Yearly Platinum Reward Levels
You’ll be an Executive Platinum when you earn at least 100,000 Prestige Points in a calendar year. Executive Platinum members get 3.5 Master Points for each of the Prestige Points they receive. To become a Platinum Elite, you’ll need to accumulate 1,000,000 Prestige Points in a calendar year. If you achieve this, you will then get five Master Points for each Prestige Point you’re awarded.
In addition to determining the number of Master Points you’ll get for every Prestige Point you collect, your Platinum Reward level determines what you are able to purchase in Poker Host’s online store. The higher the level you achieve, the more products you’ll be able to spend your Master Points on. If you make it to the Diamond level or higher, you’ll have the option of redeeming your points for live tournament packages, for instance.
The higher you go in the Platinum Reward program, the more rewards you’ll receive, too. If you become a Platinum Elite, you will be given two live tournament packages that include travel, accommodations and entry fees: Luxury Live LPS Peru Package and Luxury Live Punta Cana Package.
Upper Class Rewards
Poker Host’s Platinum Reward program includes Upper Class Rewards which you can claim once per calendar year. You unlock each Upper Class Reward every time you reach a designated milestone for the number of Prestige Points you’ve accumulated.
When you reach the following benchmarks, you’ll unlock a $10USD Upper Class Reward: 750, 1,500, 2,250, 3,000 and 4,000. When you earn the following amounts of Prestige Points, you’ll get a $50USD reward: 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 20,000, 25,000, 30,000, 35,000, 40,000 and 45,000.
Earn the following amounts of Prestige Points and you’ll unlock a $100USD Upper Class Reward: 50,000, 60,000, 70,000, 80,000 and 90,000. If you manage to collect 100,000 Prestige Points during the course of a calendar year, you’ll be given a $200USD Upper Class Reward.
