do you put him on KJ?

coming out the blinds, im not going to give him credit for QJ and KJ or JJ without a raise.

    i'll cap the river here.

i know thats not the best play, but thats what i would do.

    I put him on As10s :P

Seriously now since he obsiously has the J, the turn and river are really dangerous, but I would cap anyway. AJ maybe. Strange play cause its 6 folds to him so he would/shoud have raised with all the hands that he is supposedly raising and caping the river with. AJ/KJ/QJ/JJ. I think we are giving him to much cradit, do you have a read on him?

Honestly cause this is 0.5/1 I'd say J rag suited (maybe diamonds) that he slowplayed, or J8 at best.

Really interested to know what he had.

I’d almost say AJo some of the passive players will not raise preflop with hands such as AK and AQ, so this might make since, maybe he had AQo... However A10 isn't a bad read this is possible...

I would have capped the river nether the less because I think my hands good if it's not ohh well... you stand to win more BB then you will lose in similar situations...

he may just have a Kx or KQ or AK -- I would raise again on the river -- if he has KJ or KK than I am paying him off (or the straight flush)

I don't have any reads. The table was tight. When was the last time you saw six folds pre-flop at a party .5/1 table? With so little action and the tightness, it is hard to know or even make a relatively educated guess of what he might be holding, given the pre-flop limp and the lack of action.

I'll let a few more weigh in before posting results.

    K8?
    spades?

I'd be betting this one to the max. if he hit the set on the flop wouldn't he raise? Or maybe he's waiting for the big bets on the turn to make his money?

If he had any decent starting hand, he probably would have raised, seeing as everyone else folded. this is why I wouldn't believe KJ or QJ.

He may not have raised hands like KJ, QJ or even AJ, being in the small blind.

I think it is impossible to get a read on what the SB has in this case, and I don't think it really matters much. You have a full house..I say give him credit for a suited J and cap the river. If he beats you, then give him a "gh" and move on.

Aren't you glad you are playing limit on a hand like this? All it can cost you is one more bet. If it were NL and he pushes....now you have a problem.

I say that he has either JT-J9 or he is one of those idiots that slowplays their high pairs way too much and he's sitting on KK. KJ or QJ I see him coming in for a raise. Pretty much no matter what he has, I think he played this hand poorly. That being said, I'd probably play it exactly the same as you did and not cap the river.

I retract this, wasn't paying attention to the fact it was folded around to the SB. Yes, he would have raised with any hand that beats you, unless he has the miracle J8, made more unlikely by the fact that would be the case 8. YHIPG. Cap.

The river can be capped or called, at your discretion. You slowed down as much as I think is possible. Maybe saving one bet, maybe losing one. Being overboated (or RF'd) sucks.

cap...he's got J-rag, maybe J9. Unless he's tricky or just plain rocky, why would he check with KJ, or QJ?

not true, if it was no limit, i would have pushed on the flop after he called my insanely large pot sized bet...

then i'd tell em to ship it.

    1. How come u didn't raise pre-flop?

    2. I would cap the river...

    3. I think he has Jx, not KJ or QJ, as he would have raised. It would be ironic, but he could have J8....

    Results in white below:
SB has Kh Jc (full house, jacks full of kings).
Hero has 8h 8c (full house, eights full of jacks).
    Outcome: SB wins 16 BB.

I feel like I got played...

Something did make me slow down though. I don't think normally I would, but something must have tipped me off or something. I can't really nail it down.

well...people do odd things head up. I would (and a lot of other people) have raised with KJ on the SB when it's HU.

Just remember that good solid play will make up for losses like this.
