ok, this maybe should be moved to Tools Of Poker after a day or two, but here it will get read...

Go to C:\Program Files. Right Click on PostgreSQL, click properties. Chances are this folder will be surprisingly big, with a lot of your computer's storage being taken up by unnecessary junk (e.g. log files) or by inefficiently stored databases.

Go here http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=8423
for a step by step guide to getting rid of log files - for me this was >15 gigabytes of unnecessary junk. So now my computer should be a lot happier...

afterwards, go here
http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/s...=database+size
and do those things you feel comfortable doing.

I think I'm going to delete hand histories (but not player data) > 6months old, re-index, and maybe dump-restore. If I get around to it I'll post the impact this has on storage space, but the links from the above article indicate that this will be substantial.
