Barrel turn or check behind?

Default Barrel turn or check behind?

    Hero (UTG) ($29.23)
    MP ($25.35)
    Button ($11.90)
    SB ($25)
    BB ($33.33)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Kc, Jc
Hero bets $1, 2 folds, SB calls $0.90, 1 fold

    Flop: ($2.25) 4c, Kh, 6s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.50, SB calls $1.50

    Turn: ($5.25) 9c (2 players)
    SB checks...

    SB is a TAG. My table image is tight. A call OOP to my UTG raise is probably {22-TT, AQo, AJo, KQs, KQo}

His range doesn't really narrow at the flop as I don't think he's giving me credit for much more than a cbet here. With this flop though, he might consider flatting with 44 or 66 I guess.

Do you barrel the turn here?

I'll chime in here, sizing is a weakness for me. I'd b/f turn around $3.25, probably check blank rivers behind due to kicker but if we bink 2pr/trips then just over half pot river bet.

So assume we bet turn and get called, villain checks over on river, what are you guys doing on...
    blank river?
    club river?
    K river?
    J river?
    A river?

Just curious really, I think I play the river very badly, I miss a huge amount of value.

Well why the fuck are we asking what to do on club rivers. Same with K/J rivers actually.

People are loathe to fold 88-QQ on K-high dryish flops to a cbet.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

Obv, those hands aren't folding the flop.

How are they playing the turn and river?
  14. #14
I suppose the point you're making Fnord is that those hands would rather call one bet on the river than on the turn, out of fear that after calling turn they might have to call down an even bigger bet on the end.

y you no give reads on a vil dependent question? 'vil is a TAG' is pretty meh.

that being said, I dont mind a b/c/b line here, but better players than myself are saying to barrel so yeah...
its kind of been burned into my brain to barrel any picked up equity..but i dont see how were getting 3 streets of value from worse here, and i prefer checking turn to checking river when we dont flush.

most low stakes regs know what a terrible bluff line b/c/b is, and I don't think they expect people to bluff like that as such. With the FD appearing on the turn, I think they're more likely to pay off a bet/bet line than a b/c/b as at least TT can put you on a FD, and even if it's a bad call, some regs will still make it more often than they will a b/c/b.

That being said, a really bad reg might pay off a b/c/b more often than a b/b/whatever line. More info on villain required obv.

Sounds like a great way to play a flush draw then!
