could i have known?

i was bb and had around $22, SB and chip leader at somewhere around $68

ME dealt[ Kd 6d]
everyone besides small blind folds i check

FLOP [3d 3h 6c]
SB checks
ME bets $2
SB calls

TURN [ 3s ]
SB checks
ME bets $4
SB calls

RIVER [ Kh }
SB checks
ME bets $5
SB raises $10
ME calls and am all in

SB flips over [ 3c ] and wins $45 from pot

i thought since he had such a big chip lead he was either trying to bully the shorter stacks or he hit the 3's full of kings on the river like me and raised...i called thinkin we would split or id win.....should i have known by his bets he had this? should i have bet differently? any comments pleasee

I would have bet much more on the turn (especially after his smooth call after the flop). At that point, you had to figure you had the best hand unless (a) he had a higher pocket pair than 6's or (b) he had a 3 in his hand. The river could only hurt you by pairing up one of his hole cards. Betting bigger on the turn would have made it too expensive for him to draw out on you (pair up one of his hole cards) and tell you whether he's already got you beaten or not. Just my $0.02 after the fact knowing what he had.

since he cold called your bets I would have laid off the betting and checked to see where you stood.

I bet he would of bet the next such as the turn or river.

wouldnt checking be a sign of weakness, and the quads guy woulda bet on that weakness, you woulda raised thinking he was bettin on the weakness, he woulda re-raised all in, you mighta saved a little money, or called and be exactly where you are now...

don't even know if its worth asking about. i think no matter how you play this hand, you are all-in at the river. no combination of checking/betting small/betting big would end up with any result other than you losing it all.

was watching some high stakes games online, two people were in 100/200 NL rooms, they were both in the upper tens of thousands at this point. long story short, one hit a full house, another hit quads, the shit hit the fan and chips got pushed in, and that pretty 100k chip in the middle only got taken home by one man in the end. but i bet the guy with the full house would've done the same every time.
