Current Problem

Here is a current problem I have been running into and have been trying to find some balance.

Mid to late position with suited connectors 78 to QJ. Limp in which is follwed by a 3xbb raise by the button. 1 more caller so mu pot odds justify adding 2 more bb to get into the flop.

Flop hits one of my cards for either a top or mid pair (i.e. 2 5 9 and I am holding 89) my play is usually 1/2 to 2/3 pot bet into the raiser. Many times lately I have been min raised by the original raiser and this is where I have been getting stuck. Reraise him hard, call or fold. I know its very read dependant but it seems my reads are off lately. I raise when I feel he is on AK, only to get called or pushed all in.

Currently this is the situation I am having the most trouble playing.

I think calling is a bad option because it shows weakness. Show some strength by raising strongly or fold, those are really your only two options.

I agree that call is the worst possible option. Now here is the hard part. If I bet 1/2 pot and get min raised what is a good reraise amount? This is where I have been stuck to figure out good amount that will force AK (over cards) into bad decision but small enough to give me an escape if villan has high PP.

I think I make it about 3x the pot to go. Example: pot is 5 bucks, you bet 2.50, he raises 2.5, you make it 15. That's enough of a raise to scare some people while not putting enough of your stack in to cause a ruckus. This is assuming 1 dollar BB?
