    Default Danger! Danger!

Talk to me about this hand. I think I played it reasonably well, although I felt maybe I should have bet the turn... made it too obvious that I didn't have the king, and it gave him a free card. But I was (clearly) worried that he was slowplaying me and trying to hit me with a "check-call-check-raise" type move. I also thought he might have been on a flush draw and was planning to check-raise the turn, as a lot of flush draw chasers do when they hit. The flop bet could have been stronger too - my usual bet with or without a king there is 2/3 of the pot.

How do you guys usually play a hand like this? This is the kind of situation that makes me uncomfortable all the way around.

Note: the rather aggressive pre-flop raise was because on the previous hand, someone had raised to $2 UTG and got five... FIVE... callers.

I also have problems with this kind of situation. When opp calls your flop bet and has position on you, it´s really hard to figure what to do next. In most cases, I think I follow your line and start check/calling, to avoid putting my whole stack at risk on a hand where I´m really unsecure of the outcome. Maybe not very aggressive, but I´ll save that for the times I have a better hand.

Actually I had position on him, which makes me out to be a bit of a wimp in this hand. But with an obvious scare on the board (the kings) and then the flush card coming on the turn, I was getting really nervous about being check-raised.

    mmm... three pair.

    It's crap. Run and hide.

Pretty modest bet at river though. It's a cheap call-down so have a look.

I'll save you the unbearable suspense... he flipped pocket 10s and I won the pot. I read it as a value bet - he thought (correctly) that I didn't have the flush or a king, or a six, and I thought (also correctly) that he was holding a pocket pair of some sort, higher than sixes but very likely lower than queens. He expected the tens to hold up. I still couldn't bring myself to raise there but I wasn't surprised to win.

    Default very good

that was a very good call, it looked like to me he showed a hand around TT, the kings idea was out the window when he checked I belive. Unless he was scared of you hitting the flush, but even if i was scared of you hitting the flush, bet the turn and check the river if possible. Same amout of money would have been exchanged, he played weak it seemed like. Not to mention if he did have a king it would have been dumb for him to only call the flop, there is a flush draw out there and for you to have AQs is not out of the question and your 4$ bet could have well been a semi-bluff. Unless he doesnt like to pay attention or he enjoys giving you the next card cheap and isnt worried about you haveing a draw. I would say you played the hand perfect. The only thing that could have been argued was to bet the turn but even then, im comfortable with your check.
