    Default Downswing session HH

fack me this is gruuuueling. Here's some grim hands for y'all to comment on. If people could numerically list their comments rather than just say the KK hand etc.

I'm going to weaktight them so you can have a go at putting villain on ranges etc. then decide for yourself if you want to see the results (irresistable though).

    ONE

Was getting called too much and got sick of it so shoved. In retrospect i'd have put his calling rage as 33, spades, 77-QQ which i mainly crush but specifically if i had to i'd say he has 33 here. I should have checked and if they shoved, assume they flopped a set. Again.

    TWO

Villain has clubs every time here. We'll never know. Dude was a complete station hence the original large PFR and so was the other guy. I always assume a flat call followed by a shove on this turn card is the flush, my agro betting would have given him good implied odds?

    THREE
    http://weaktight.com/1003762
Yeah, see above. I used to call these thinking.. naaah, they don't have it. They fuckin do. I now fold.

    FOUR
    http://weaktight.com/1003765
This may have been tilt. Just constant doubt as to what the hell they have made me put him on a set or two pair. After i folded he told me he had a king, and asked what i had. I maybe put him on KT there? who knows.

    FIVE

Don't think i had a read on this guy. I checked OOP against the big stack, wanted to know where i stood so i could work the turn better. He was calling me down with magic hands all the time.

    SIX
    http://weaktight.com/1003772
I put him squarely on JJ here or maaaybe KK. Would have assumed a 3bet with KK though. He calls with JJ coz he has the overcards, then launches when the J hits the river.... yes? no?

    SEVEN
    http://weaktight.com/1003775
    Put him on KT here?

    EIGHT
    http://weaktight.com/1003777
Didn't play this hand too good, got my money in bad here, but i figured i had so many outs.

    NINE
    http://weaktight.com/1003782
Again, i think i must have been tilting here, never know where i stand and because of the bad players (hell he did call with J3s) so i put villain on a 6 or 55.

T-rex: I don't really think folding too much is the root of the problem here, it's failing to bet in the right spots, which of course leads to bad folds.

And the root of the failing to bet in the right spots problem would likely be from inexperience with estimating hand ranges.

I could be wrong but this was my consensus after reviewing all the hands and comments.

dude... if you could look into my eyes and see the sick beats i've taken in the last month, you'd be folding too if you were me. I HAD been calling before and just seeing death in every villain's hand.

Possibly shouldn't though, as spenda points out (where applicable). Must play in the now.

    Thanks for the feedback spenda.

dude, how bad you run should not affect your decisions on any future hands you play.
if bet/fold is a better decision than check/fold, yet you do the latter, you do not gain, you lose.

Think in terms of long run expectation, don't just wildy guess what your opponent has. This will result in losing alot of value because you'll c/f too often in spots you should be betting for value.

I would suggest reading some of the stickies there are some good read about what micro is talking about. They helped me out alot I love bad beats, they don't even phase me anymore I just lol seems like maybe you are playing under rolled also? because i don't care much about bad beats because I am properly rolled.

DON'T BE RESULT ORIENTATED! Make the right plays over and over again how should the past affect this hand? u have very weak mindset that's all this thought process shows.

Name all the ways that "sick beats" and how to play the current hand are connected to each other. None of your answers can mention emotions.

    Ready get set go!

I was deep stacked and my read had him firmly on clubs there. When you bet massively against a fish and they flat it, they're waiting for the next card, he'd have raised if he'd had anything like AK or AA on the flop. I should have bet out and THEN folded though.

This post made me think of
Yeah, reddit. Cep when i calm down and start focusing and playing less tables etc. i'm still getting destroyed by a cocktail of variance and leaks. You know you're running bad when, half an hour into a game you realise you're surrounded by fishy idiots, then an hour later they've taken your money.

maybe you are playing under rolled also?
I have 40 buy-ins at my stake, read my operations manager. Gonna move up when i get to 30 buy-ins for 10nl. I have a lot of imperfections that i want to iron out before moving up. Too many situations where i'm scratching my head. Hate turn card play, it's hard. Sometimes don't know when not to cbet. Bet sizing is ok but needs improving. Poker mindset if fucked coz of such an evil month, need to buy the book when i can afford it.

    FYP

bet/fold if your going to be doing any folding here, though you'd probably be priced to call a shove anyway though I'm just guessing since I didn't re-look at the HH.

GAWD isn't it just as easy to click the little tab that says FTR on the weaktight page as it is to cut and past the link into your post. I know it is a hell of a lot easier to read your post on one page rather than go back and forth.........IMO
"You start the game with a full pot o’ luck and an empty pot o’ experience...
The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck."
