I pretty much ripped through my $20 bankroll against this guy. Did I make any glaring errors?

We then had another hand where he took it down postflop. And then a hand where he folded! He said that he had 72o, the only hand he wouldn't play. The next hand he took the blinds down again. Then we had this next one. Maybe after this I should have begun to adjust my strategy against him, I'm not sure.

He had been letting people see flops, so I thought KQ would have pretty good implied odds for that 25%+ of the time that I pair up on the flop. When he shoved, I was really close to folding, but then I thought I held up pretty well against his range. Unfortunately, I think he might've changed gears on me. I think I should have been able to get away from this one.

I think that my main mistake was that after my withdrawal last week, I wasn't bankrolled to hang around with this guy. Other than that, he was either playing me really well, or I was just getting extremely unlucky to keep running into the very top of his range.

Fortunately, before I sat at that table and went broke, I had registered for a $1.10 MTT. I finished 258th good for $2.25, so we'll what I can grind that into .

OK... I just thought it important for everyone to see the kinds of hands he was shoving with. I'll cut it and convert it later on after I finish this tournament I'm in.

That's cool, but it really doesn't matter. The thread title pretty much sums up all we need to know about the villan. He's a spew monkey. You should be getting it all in with this guy at the best opportunities. I'll take this guy to showdown with mid pair every time. Betting into players like this is always +EV, but you have to have the bankroll to ride the swings. $20 isn't enough to gut it in this situation.

I was up against a guy like this earlier today, and was down 2 BIs before it turned around. I left up 2 BIs. If you don't like the swings, play it tight, and you'll still get your opportunity, if someone else doesn't stack him first.

One thing, I think A9 is a little weak to be calling all-ins with, especially the hand with two already shoving their chips in...

Yeah, I think I went a little nuts there after I saw Superhero shove Q9s and Archenemy call with J4o. Certainly A9 would've fared well in that particular instance, but I just Pokerstoved A9o against top 60% (for shover) and top 75% (for caller: J4o is near the bottom of this), and I'm barely over 38%. Interestingly, A9s is over 41%. But still, not really the best place to get my chips in.

2. Don't buy in for $5 if they're shoving crap PF
it's good if you're rolled for it, but just buy in for $2 and stack off with your A9 hands if you have a small BR

I wish that was possible, but I already borrowed from my roommate to pay the rent. When I got up to $630, I thought I'd be reasonably safe to take out $500 and drop in stakes (but only have about 15 buy-ins). Of course, I was mistaken in that assumption.

This is a great idea that I didn't think of until after the fact. My thinking was that with my premiums, I'd want to be able to get as many chips as possible. But since I was pushing my edges with hands like A9 and KQs, playing shorter would have definitely been a better idea.
