After the hand, he berated me and told me I should "stop making pot-size bet and go learn to play poker" (he has a point about the learning). Anyway, his comment made me questioned my call.

you have top set w/ 10 outs to a boat/quads. you call his shove. if he has the straight, so be it.

and SCREW him for berating your style. whether you are a rookie or a pro, he was just trying to "psyche you out" and get you to change to HIS style. tell him to F-off and start making 125% pot bets. charge his ass big time. start stealing his blind from anywhere w/ anything decent. start pissing him off when scare cards hit. and tell him to "learn how to adjust to the opponent." dont give in to that crap.

you are at $2 NL...not exactly the place where math takes precedence. down here you can get away with a lot of things you cant anywhere else. take advantage of that!
