Default which game would you rather play live???

Im planning on playing alot of LIVE poker over the next month for a change because Im out an internet connection. I'd like some advice on which game to sit...

My bankroll is around $2500 or so but is mainly locked up in my stars account. Ive only got around $800 available off the bat but I can get more if needed.

My first option is sitting in the 1-3 blinds, $100 NL game full of mostly donks. This game is good but is not as deepstacked as I usually like to play (plus the standard raise is usually about $15)

My second option is sitting the 2-5 blinds, $300 NL game. This game also has alot of donks, just slightly less. I like this game alot, but I'm a little worried about variance. I know Im under rolled for this game but still feel very confident in it. (plus food is comped at these tables which probably would save me around $15 a trip)

Basically, I want to know if I should play in the loose, high variance $100 game or in the somewhat tighter, deeperstacked $300 game.

Anyone have any good advice for me???

The game + rake structure of those games makes them harder to beat than they would appear.

So are you saying that I would be better off not playing live at all? Considering the rake, I would probably lean towards playing in the $300 game. I think its a better rake structure than the $100 game.

Some of the players in these games are soooooo bad though that it has to make up for some of these rake issues right?

    Certainly on your roll.

You probably won't have the cojones to gamble for stacks with them when you only have a 3:2 or so edge.

If you can manage to make the drive for a weekend, the 1/2 and 1/3 games in Vegas are much more newbie friendly.

It's ultimatly up to you so I don't have much to say. Except that only you know at which game your hourly rate will be the highest at, which is the most important thing.

Something else to consider however, is your roll. You should try to have about 1000 big bets ($3000-$4000 @ 1/2 $100 max). Because you have $800, I recommend the lowest possible limits, as per your roll size.

Actually my roll is much larger than $800. Thats is just counting liquid money right now. I have about $2500 total bankroll just for poker. Also, I can always go back to grinding online if I loose, lets say, $1000 or so.

I dont think Ive ever lost more than about $600 during any stretch of playing either of these games, granted I have a small sample size compared to my online play.

I think I might just play the $300 game and see if I can play tight. If I loose a buy in or two, Ill move down limits. Im willing to gamble because I know all I need is hours of play and I can make it all back online.

Any other advice is great. Thanx everyone.
