how do you quote somebody's text?

You can alternatively type it out yourself (in case you're quoting multiple people when you're already on the "Post a reply" screen), by using:

[quote="poster's name"]pasting their posted text here[/quote]

and it'll show up like so:

Originally Posted by poster's name

copy/pasting their posted text here
