Usually the villain wants to have some reads on his own when making moves, and by the time he has them we should have them as well. Of course some people are blufftastic donkeys, but I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt and rake in their chips later on.

Of course sometimes you don't have any reads per se, but your gut feeling tells you to call/fold/meh. In these cases I mostly go with the gut. And most of the times I refuse to believe it and do what my brain convinces me to, I get burned.
