I dont look at my dealer tips as a waste. Dealers do very repetitive work for many, many hours and sometimes deal with assholes who have been losing too long and somehow think it's the dealer's fault. I want a good dealer when I'm at a table. By a good dealer, I dont mean that I have some kind of superstition about a certain dealer giving me good cards, I mean someone who doesnt make you feel like he has better things to do than deal you cards. Dealers like that can bring down the mood of the whole table.

It's a service industry. Those types of jobs let people make great money on tips, and it also separates the good ones from the bad ones.
