Default JJ in position in 3 bet pot.

Only 10 or so hands into the session. I'd 3 bet this guy the hand befroe and he'd folded. He seemed quite active, but no specific reads.

    No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    SB ($55.90)
    BB ($26.85)
    UTG ($33.25)
    MP ($12.55)
    CO ($30.70)
    Hero (Button) ($27.10)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, J
2 folds, CO bets $1, Hero raises $3.40, 2 folds, CO calls $2.40

    Flop: ($7.15) 9, 5, 10 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $4.80, CO calls $4.80

    Turn: ($16.75) 4 (2 players)
    CO checks, Hero?

    Total pot: $16.75

The trouble I have with this hand is. Am I ever getting value from worse here if I bet? 99 TT and QQ are defo in his range.

    Thoughts?

flat pre and position rape him, unless you have a read that villain continues to 3b's OOP with a wide range.

as played, i think our B range should be huge on the flop because any bet commits us, and because this flop is bone dry given his range (we block half of QJs and 98s is possible but unlikely).

    as played, def check turn

Since you partly block straight draws - a drawing hand is not very likely. And you might not get value from a weaker made hand. I would be worried about sets.
I would check for pot-control and call a decent bet on river or check down if no bet.

Think he'd call a 3bet with T9s and then slowplay?

Why is KK not in his range?

I suppose I sort of auto pilotted pre-flop and thought for a minute that he may call a 3 bet lighter then usual since I was new to the table and had already 3-bet him the previous hand. I have absolutely nothing to base this on though so flatting is probably better.

What do we think about checking this flop vs betting? I mean we can bet for protection, but obv betting solely for protection is bad and if we give him an average continuing to 3 bet range preflop of say 88+ AJ+ nothing really continues except the stuff that beats us.

3bet is fine, let's gogogo on the turn bet/call like $9

I agree w/ your PF reasoning, the psychology of having 3bet him the previous hand makes me want to 3bet this hand more here.

Wow I'm getting so many different oppinions on this hand.

Spenda - what are we expecting him to call/ship turn with that we can beat?

you think hes calling the 3bet that light just because of the history of the previous hand right? otherwise we are probably behind his range at this point

really, cuz a lot of the hands everyone seems to be worried about would have c/r'ed the flop

    +1

I think having 3bet the hand before its definetley a preflop 3bet, we're also way ahead of his range and theres a fair chance with your image on a 3bet hell randomly spew or go to the flop light

Sure you have blockers to the straight draws but i again think id bet turn and call a shove - if 25nl is anything like 100nl then sets raise the flop more often than not.

i also dont agree with those who say if this was a hand in isolation were behind his flop calling range - we could certainly be marginal to his turn range, but its 25nl and im not going to flat out agree his range is all monsters on the turn

+1 as well. I think people misunderstood my post.

I got 3bet back to back and called with 9To so villain can easily have weaker hands in his range ( if he tilts as easy as I do)
    Bet turn for value
