Just started back and i'm losing!

Hey guys,

I was a player about a year ago where i was playing $50-$100 NL and a winning player. Cashed out, bought a new PC and didn't put any back in again until now...

I started playing party poker again at $25NL (6-max) and i'm wondering how large a sample of hands i need before i can definitively say i'm actually just losing money?

I currently have 4k hands logged over 2 days and i'm down ~ $80 and keep going up and down but not quite back to even.

I keep getting hands like this:

Obviously in this instance i just got unlucky and i don't think i could've got away from it. But i've had quite a few hands like this and then most probably a couple yesterday that might have been tilt resulting in these type of hands.

So... someone tell me what stats to post and help me!!

stats aren't helpful until you get more than 10k hands in. Sounds like you just hit some negative variance right out of the gate.

Keep plugging away and if you are questioning some of your decisions try posting a few hands for review.

I think that i'm just over thinking things at this level. It seems that whenever i try and make a play on someone i make it at the wrong time or against the wrong person, then if i play too ABC i feel like i'm being raised off my hands all the time.

I'm finding it hard to find an inbetween level where i pick at weakness but i don't try to push stations off of hands with air.

This hand i thought the flop bet was weak ($0.75 into a pot of $1.50) so i raised him and to my surprise they all call. I obviously love the turn and get coolered but was raising the flop the right thing to do or at this level should i just set hunt only?

Both of those hands tilt the dog shit out of me.

I don't see much of a problem with the play.
Even if it might seem ridiculously low to you, you might want to give 0.5/0.1 a shot. It's a much easier game in general, and might be good for boosting your confidence. Play 10k hands - if you play well then there is no way you're not returning a profit there, and then go up again.

Hands 1 and 2 villain had 90% c-bet, so i call on the flop thinking if they check the turn then i can take the pot away, yet they always seem to double barrel...

I'm actually now down $172 in 4,500 hands. Maybe i should move down to $10 NL until i sort out my game.

I think i have to accept hand 2 was just stupid of me. Should i also stop floating when i know they have high c-bet %ages? Turn it into a raise/fold strategy?

p.s. Party seems to be screwing up the HHs but i think you can work out the gist without me sifting through. Is there a better converter?

I'd like to clarify hand 2 slightly by saying that i don't always call that with a bad overpair and that it was a 1 off.

I thought that this particular opponent might have been slightly annoyed at me from the beat i gave him earlier and try to take the pot on the turn with a big bluff. (Though he gave me absolutely no reason to believe this)

The thing with floating is, you can only do it so often. They will notice it, and just fire a second barrel against you on the turn if they think you're floating.

2nd hand - I don't understand why you don't just raise him all-in on the flop.
(don't post results, please. It really messes with my head)

Hand 3 - board is extremely draw heavy. Bet more on the flop. Turn raise is ok. Go broke on the river.

(I'll spare myself all the "IMHO" - I'm a microstakes player who never successfully played 25NL for a longer period of time... so take it for what it's worth)
