Default K/10 o Vs Q/3 of Diamonds. Was I wrong??

Yesterday I played in a Freeroll on PokerStars.com and about mid ways through after losing and hand on a Flush Draw a few hands earlier I went All in with K/10 Off. I had $570 Remaining from a starting stack of $1,500 I was UTG2 folds all around to the SB who had $610 Remaining after taking time to figure odds player called with Q3 of Diamonds. Now I know I'm not supposed to put results in the thread but I also don't know how to to a hand converter either so. Anyways player hits a 3 on the Flop and I brick the entire board and get knocked out. I know I probably could have picked a better spot to go all in but I didn 't want my stack to get much more depleted and end up having to go all in in an ever worse spot. Was I wrong to go all in am I still worlds behind or did player just get lucky? Any input is apprecaited. Thanks.

It depends on the size of the blinds in relation to your stack. Here is a chart that has unexploitable shoving and calling ranges for various stack sizes in BB in a heads up game. While not 100% applicable to a FR tournament it is fairly useful in determining the types of hands you should be shoving and when.

It could be argued that this is a bad beat thread, but instead I'm going to lean towards it being a "I have no idea about when tournaments become push/fold but realized something's gotta give when I have like 3bb omgwtfbbq".

A good start would be any of the books Harrington on Hold'em Vol 2, Kill Everyone, or Kill Phil (as far as I know) if you have access to any of them.

For heads-up ranges for shallow stacks, Are You Sage? Getting an Edge in Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em - Card Player Poker Magazine - CardPlayer.com is an easy system to learn that is very close to unexploitable.

Sklanski's book called No Limit Hold 'em, Theory and Practice has a decent chart in it that gives a good idea of when to shove with which hands.

If you have HEM you can run hands through SnGWizard pretty easily (comes with a 30day trial) but it won't give reasons, only recommended actions.

Thank you all for the help. I find all the links and books you suggested very useful. I do have the Dave Skalansky No Limit Hold Em Theory and Practice. I'm going to start reading it right away. Thanks.
