Default KK in 4bet pot - ace on the flop

    Hello FTR,

Got back to playing regularly lately.
Not many 4bet/called pots one can encounter when playing 3-4 tables. I am certain that someone out here can help.

Villian was running sth like 55/30 3bet 25, very aggro, maniacish type - though only 13 hands on him at that point,

Checked back flop to call down turn and river.

    What do you think? Standard?

    888 Poker - $0.20 NL - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    BB: $18.32
    UTG: $18.14
    MP: $20.00
    Hero (CO): $20.00
    BTN: $26.35
    SB: $21.14

SB posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.20

    Pre Flop: ($0.30) Hero has K K

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.60, BTN calls $0.60, fold, BB raises to $2.50, Hero raises to $4.80, fold, BB calls $2.30

    Flop: ($10.30, 2 players) Q A 5
    BB checks, Hero checks

    Turn: ($10.30, 2 players) J
    BB bets $7.72, ??

Flop and turn are horrible for kk. Combined with only 13 hands on villain I'd just fold the turn.

As for whether to bet or check the turn, I'd prob check against an aggro villain.

What hands do you have in mind?

I'd 4bet larger preflop, it seems like a decent squeeze spot for the BB, a CO open and BTN call so he might not be as strong as he looks in this spot especially if you have a read on him as being over aggro. I'd make the 4bet to $7.50 and cbet the flop.

As played i would have bet the flop as well.

pre could be slightly bigger. but $7.5 as someone suggested i feel is far too big. as played i probably fold the turn because he bet massive and is probably as scared as you are with any hands <Ax in his range. but i am typically pretty lost in these spots myself.

More pre-. I don't have much issue with 7.50. If he calls, you're probably ahead, and if he raises, it's NP getting it all in.

As played. c-bet the flop. He doesn't have to have an A, plus when you check back, you look like you may not either, which opens up the possibility to bet a fair number of turn cards.

Lol 750 why not shove. 4b is fine could be like a pinch more, Wat do you think his range is for calling yr 4b? I would assume pps and big Ax maybe KQ. I wood Prolly bet flop like 2.5/3bucks then shut it down. Cc down seems like we getting owned when we has little info on villain. if sample was bigger then I can see an arguement for cc down.

Shoving would better than the min 4bet imo. If he's a lagtard like OP says he'll call off with alot of worse hands for stacks pre also we won't find ourselves in these crappy spots with limited info on such an aggro opponents range.

I agree on the range and I like the idea of a small flop bet, could be seen as trapping + with nuts we will probably check it back or bet smallish to keep as much of his range as possible in play or to induce.

When raised we can fold happily

I'm typically going to $5.50 3bet. Checking behind flop, puke folding turn.

    Bet-fold flop.

EDIT: Ref sizing, as Fnord would say, five dollah make you hollah.
