bet bigger on the flop. And its generally better not to give the results away in the title, you'll get better responses that way.

question is: what are YOU running? thats a big raise to open with...gave away your hand, imo. that gave villain, along with your stack, plenty of implieds to know he could hit his set. and your weak flop bet screams either, "call me on this low, dry flop," or, "i dont like my AK anymore." either way, he has you.

open raise smaller. bet flop bigger. that said, at 25NL, i dont get away from this one until he fires that K. could be AK, could be set, either way, i'm beat by his dinky value bet after c/ring that dry ass flop.
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

    OP didn't open; there was a limper/poster.

yeah, thanks for catching that. i missed it. i know it sounds like nit-picking over a quarter now, but that poster makes a HUGE diff.

ignore my "open smaller" comment. with poster/limper, 6X is great. but, i would still pound that flop.

Santa, please read the rest of the thread. With the limper, opening to $1 is too small. The flop line you suggest is fine (against opponents who haven't been aggressive), IF you bet enough on the flop. As played, your flop line looks like you have nothing, so you can't tell much by the fact that they raised you.

If a player stuck around until the river, he probably isn't folding and ace or king. Why not check behind on river?

Check behind on river for sureeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. That's a gross spot to bet.

i thought perhaps he had maybe a smaller pp, what i was doing was letting him hang himself. i thought he may have 1010 here and that his bet on the turn was to see if i had hit a king, then on the river he checks so i didnt think he had a set, so i wanted him to make a decison for all his money
