In NL the reason small suited connectors are a great hand to play is as TylerK said because of the massive implied odds you will be getting.

If you got 45s and the flop comes up 236, 55x or something as monstrous as that, then if your opponent has got bullets or cowboys then you are going to probably walk away with his entire stack!

If im in late position and only say 2 people called then Ill probably fold, otherwise Ill limp in with them.
