TPGK vs flop c/r

    Default TPGK vs flop c/r

Villain is 64/20 over 89 hands, so preflop range is very wide. other stats show he is a little to inclined to bet/raise both the flop and turn. with a prf of 20 i'm putting his limp/call range as any 2 unpaired cards, not AK/AQ/KQ/KJ/AJ/AT/KT .. likely Jx+

    NL Holdem $0.02(BB) Poker Stars
    SB ($2.04)
    BB ($1.28)
    UTG ($2)
    UTG+1 ($6.66)
    UTG+2 ($4.96)
    Hero ($2.68)
    MP2 ($4)
    CO ($2.25)
    BTN ($4.97)

    Dealt to Hero Q K

fold, UTG+1 calls $0.02, fold, Hero raises to $0.08, fold, fold, BTN calls $0.08, fold, fold, UTG+1 calls $0.06

    FLOP ($0.27) 8 Q 3

UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.17, BTN folds, UTG+1 raises to $0.34, Hero calls $0.17

I strongly considered raising the flop here but chickened out. Based on my preflop read though this flop is probably reraise or fold though? I can fold if he shoves because likely has Q8/Q3 or would it ever be ok to call in against someone this loose with TPGK

    TURN ($0.95) 8 Q 3 4

    UTG+1 bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40

    RIVER ($1.75) 8 Q 3 4 2

    UTG+1 bets $0.40, Hero calls $0.40

    Hero shows Q K
    (Pre 74%, Flop 84.4%, Turn 93.2%)

    UTG+1 shows 9 Q
    (Pre 26%, Flop 15.6%, Turn 6.8%)

    Hero wins $2.43

I called the turn and river because his postflop aggression was high but i feel a bit like i was passively spewing even though it worked out ok this time.. any thoughts?

on this board you have the nuts against such an aggressive fish. with a FD out there I 3b/stack the flop but on this dry board you can call flop. I'd raise turn or river because villain's not building the pot fast enough and I want to play for stacks against this guy.

I think it's played pretty much fine but I would raise the river since with his betsize the only hand I am really worried about is AQ. He has Qx or something stupid like JJ or TT here pretty much 100%

Calling down was OK, and now that you have a read that he raises top pair no kicker you can play for stacks next time. Or if like d0zer you have enough instinct to feel that he does that, you could have raised somewhere.

Also, please do not post results when you post hands, as it influences people's answers.

pro tip: aggro megafish routinely c/r any top pair (and a whole lot more), to the point where tpgk is the fucking nuts.

Sadly aggro fish are less common than passive fish.

looks good to me. raising the river would be pretty baller and hence something i probably wouldn't think of either

edit: well i'd think of it since its a pretty gay bet but id still nit out. OR WOULD I?!

I probably would've bet harder if I'd held AQ. But that really just tells me to pay more attention since my post game analysiis says KQ is pretty much AQ here.

I don't like my play this hand because it just feels like passively calling with a pretty weak hand. Which would be ok with a bigger hand like a set that can handle him catching 2pair or trip Q's. With a tpgk though it feels like I can get him to put it in early when he's behind and avoid ever making a payoff if he turns or rivers a 9

Not too bad as played if he is aggressive imo. If he truly is aggro then its fine to call down the last 2 streets. Betting out might just bloat the pot and put you in difficult spots. His bets kept the pot small enough where you dont mind calling down with TP.

you don't want to keep the pot small when you have the nuts against a loose moron, you're missing value here not playing for stacks against this kind of player. If we were against a much tighter player then your "keeping the pot small" stuff would have more merit.

consider like raising to the river to.96 or soemthing he never has a really strong hand on the river when he does that.
